He stood Laughing

You should have heard the way,
the way they screamed and yelled,
on that fateful day,
that history will never tell.

In a wave of orgasmic cacophony,
the screams of everyone in unison
both ecstatic and melancholy
cried the words "It has begun!".

The clocks all stopped and the turned backwards,
counting down to the oblivion of the beginning,
before war, before words,
before man, before sinning.

They could not stop it,
no matter how they tried,
with their preying at their pulpits.
They all soon died.

Pestilence road on the air
in waves of pleasure and pain.
Killing who it did not care,
homicidal acid rain.

They couldn’t think of who their killer was
But they knew it in their hearts.
He was born where something evil was
from the darker parts.

They had many names for him,
but none of them could convey
the pleasure he got from misery
and giving it away.

They called him Damien.
They called him Stygian.
They called him Pagan.
They called him Satan.

They could have called him God as well,
He did not care
Because they were going to a place far worse than hell,
they were going to the void again; the unknown was there.

So he laughed
as they cried.
So he laughed
as they died.

Laughing:
He stood tall.
Laughing:
He watched the last one fall.
Laughing:
He stood over the vacant, sterile Earth
and walked into the darkness
to prepare for a second birth.

And the clocks started again...
